9 months

this little tyke turned 9 months old on july 2nd, which was also our 7th anniversary. 9 months seems so much older to me than 8. he's slowly leaving the baby stage and becoming a toddler! time really go so fast.

here's a look at his 9th month:

*once or twice this month he did some "real" crawling on his hands and knees. he really stepped it up by doing a lot on his 9 month birthday. he mostly sticks to walking along the furniture and continues with his "wounded soldier" crawl.
*his top two teeth have made their debut!
*he got his first little bug on june 6th. he threw up multiple times from 5 am until about 6 that night. it was so sad, but he was so snuggly...i kind of loved how he just let me snuggle him. i held him all day while he was awake and went back and forth between internet time and reading. the next day he was much better and was back to himself the day after that.
*he learned how to stand up in his crib!
*he has greatly improved when going down for naps and bed. more so than not he does not cry when i lay him down. every once in a while he will, but it usually doesn't take long before he's out.
*his 2 longest naps this month were about 3 hours long. he woke up a couple times but still acted tired and kept going back to sleep after i gave him his binky and patted his back.
*i've started being more consistent with practicing "elimination communication". i did it a few times starting around the time he was 7 weeks old, but sort of filed it in the back of my brain and didn't pick it back up until recently. it has been going really well! he's gone potty on the toilet multiple times. he talks and makes all kinds of noise all day, so when it gets quiet i know he's working on a little present, so i rush him to the toilet and sit him up there on the potty seat and let him do his thing. it's so funny to watch his face. i feel bad for laughing, but i really can't help it! number #1 is harder to catch, so i usually just sit him up there before his bath while the water is running and that usually encourages him to go.
*he's tried more foods this month. he still does not like applesauce, but he likes apples...? he loves oatbran mixed with cinnamon and banana. loves bread, brown rice puff cereal, carrots (cooked and raw), peaches, crackers, pretzels, is okay with rice, loved boiled red potatoes. although he's been introduced to multiple foods, he still prefers breastfeeding and hasn't eaten any less from me.
*had the "mommy-itis" pretty rough. jackson couldn't even hold him without eli getting all worked up. i felt loved, although i'm sure jackson didn't. i know soon enough he'll want nothing to do with mommy and want to spend his time following his daddy around doing boy things. it really only lasted 2 or so weeks and he's gotten a lot better about not being stuck to me.

we love you little bugga!

That's cool that you are working on E.C. with him. I've heard of it before on cloth diaper forums, but I don't know much about it. It's true that silence tends to mean they are busy filling the diaper.
